UNDERSTANDING OUR CHARGES
Service Fees
A fixed service fee is charged for every job. This fee covers vehicle and fuel costs, administration expenses, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Labour Charges
We charge a minimum of one hour for all jobs, regardless of the actual time spent. This is because each job must be scheduled with at least a one-hour booking. If the job is completed in less than an hour, the one-hour minimum still applies.
Labour time includes more than just time spent on-site. It encompasses travel to your location, investigation and testing, sourcing of parts or fittings, carrying out the repair or replacement, updating our job system via mobile devices, and necessary administration and health and safety tasks.
Mileage
The first 20 kilometres of travel from our office at 32 Eyre Street, Feilding, are included in the service fee. Any travel beyond 20 kilometres will incur an additional per-kilometre charge. This includes travel to your location and return to our office, if the total travel exceeds 20 kilometres. This mileage charge does not apply to jobs located in immediate Palmerston North area.
How We Charge
Labour is charged at a minimum of one hour, followed by 15-minute increments rounded to the nearest quarter-hour. Every job also includes a service fee.
Invoicing
Invoices are sent via email in digital format. Charge-up jobs are fully itemised. Quoted jobs are not itemised. Printed copies are available upon request.
Payment Terms
Payment is due within 14 days of receiving the invoice. We accept payments via online banking and EFTPOS at our office.
Disputes
If you have any questions or concerns about your invoice, we ask that you contact us within seven days of receipt. This allows us to address any issues before the invoice is due. All disputes should be submitted politely via email to our accounts team, who are happy to review and respond accordingly. Invoice queries to be emailed to office@uneedaplumber.co.nz
Care and Existing Fixtures
We take care to minimise damage when removing or replacing existing fixtures and fittings. However, in cases where removal is not possible without causing damage, Uneeda Plumber is not responsible for the resulting repairs. If required, we are happy to organise repairs on your behalf, which will be charged to you.
Insurance Claims
We understand that some plumbing jobs may be covered under your home insurance policy. Most insurance policies, however, only cover the repair of resulting damage and not the repair of the underlying cause. We can provide a written report for your insurance company upon request, but any work completed must be paid in full before the report is issued. Reimbursement must be handled directly between you and your insurance provider.
Client-Supplied Fixtures and Fittings
Uneeda Plumber typically supplies fixtures and fittings and keeps a range of standard items in stock. If a client chooses to supply their own products and requests us to install them, we accept no responsibility if the item does not fit, is incompatible, or fails to meet requirements. In the event of a product failure, the client is responsible for managing any warranty claims directly with the manufacturer, including covering any associated costs.
We recommend that all fixtures and fittings be supplied through Uneeda Plumber. We are happy to assist you in choosing appropriate products.
Warranty
If a fixture supplied by Uneeda Plumber is found to be faulty and is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, we will manage the warranty claim process on your behalf.
Free Quotes
We offer free quotes, including site visits, for clients located within 20 kilometres of Feilding or within the Palmerston North area. For locations beyond this area, a travel and labour charge will apply.
Photos
To assist in accurate scheduling and job assessment, we encourage clients to email us photos of the job where possible. This helps our office staff allocate the appropriate time and resources to your request.
